New Beginnings

I wrote this a few months ago, but didn't manage to post it. Here we go...

It's a sunny Saturday morning, I've had a long week, and frankly I'm loving just sitting in bed with the sun shining on my dog Rusty while he's keeping his eyes closed, and my laptop in front of me as I wish all of you a good morning. :)
My neighbor is blasting some really cool Jazz, but since I'm enjoying it, I really cannot complain. :) As I read through what you guys have written, one theme comes to mind as it permeates through all the blogs: New Beginnings.
Some of you miss home, some miss friends and loved ones that are no longer and some are contemplating life. One of my friends witnessed the end of a beautiful life at a funeral, another read an interesting article about letting go. It seems that no matter how much we miss the past, and how much transposing ourselves into it can bring feelings of nostalgia, it still remains just that: the past. In essence it's the dead weight that can drag you behind the pace of life, or it can be the force pushing you forward. Either way, notice I didn't tell you to forget about it, to shed it. Because it's what makes you who you are today. Without it you are "a lone reed, standing in the wind". Keep it ALL OVER you, and it will surely drown you and ensure that you cannot move forward. Part of letting go is holding on to any good memories and the learnings, for surely there is something to be learned, at the very least about yourself.
Once you've gone through all this in your head and have found all that is to learn and understand, once you've understood the lessons God, Karma or any other higher natural power intended for you to take by going through the experience, look ahead. Start anew and don't be afraid. For only fear of not finding life to offer even more is what keeps us in the past, keeps us entangled in what will ultimately be a settlement we will no longer be passionate for, because it is seriously lacking to us.
But new beginnings are demanding; they are like an only child who loves attention. New beginnings want yours. They want every positive force in you, so they can lift you up as high as can be. And soon you'll realize you almost slipped into the mistake of dying with the dead past, when life is just around the corner.
This morning, with the sun in your eyes, be you well rested or hung over, smile and make this a new beginning. Enough thoughts of "the end" of the past. This is not a week-END. It's a life BEGINNING!
GOOD MORNING TO YA!
